The founder of the legendary band The Jimi Hendrix experience and The band of Gypsys, his unique style of playing used a combination of effects such as Wah-wah and amplifier feedback, combined with speed paved the way for hard rock and Heavy Metal. His legendary preformances at the 1969 Woodstock festival and The Isle of Wright festival are considered some of the best live guitar preformances ever. His unique style of using an upside down backwars right-handed guitar helped defined his sound.
